I offer informal testing packages that provide information on a students strengths and weaknesses, error patterns, if/what type of intervention is appropriate, then using this information to develop an individualized learning plan that best supports the student. This Informal assessment protocols are criterion referenced, which means they do not compare results to anyone else but rather compare results against a set of goals or standards. This is a prerequisite before any tutoring services provided by Lighthouse Literacy Solutions can begin. Informal assessment packages include a full written report and a session with the parent/guardian to review the information.

I offer formal assessment packages in the area of phonological awareness, reading fluency, and reading comprehension. This information can be shared with your child's school if you are seeking information/support in the special education eligibility process. Formal assessments are norm-referenced, and offer a percentile rank comparing a student with other students of the same age/grade. Formal assessment packages include a full written report and a session with the parent/guardian to review the information.

Throughout my instructional time with a student, I use a variety of progress monitoring measures as a way to measure the students progress towards the skills being taught. Progress monitoring packages include annual or semi-annual written progress reports.

- Client needs to be on a reliable device with internet, and functioning webcam, microphone, touchscreen or mouse, headphones (if desired), and speakers, in a distraction limited environment/room
- Client will come prepared to each lesson on time and with the necessary supplies
- virtual sessions will be conducted via Zoom
Dyslexia therapist will:
- deliver explicit, systematic, and multisensory lessons with fidelity based on an Orton Gillingham based instructional approach.
- I will use progress monitoring tools with fidelity to guide and assess instruction
- I will undertake all preparation prior to lessons and to structure them in such a way as to optimize time to the benefit of the student
- I will keep all of your child’s information confidential
- I will keep an open line of communication with parent(s) regarding client’s progress
- I will keep accurate data reflecting progress.
- Annual or semi-annual progress reports are available upon request at an additional charge

- Client will come prepared to each lesson on time at the agreed upon in-person location
- Tutor will provide any needed student supplies/materials
